1. Backyard. As I have been canning today, the kinds have spent time in the backyard. We don't have much out there yet, but I am still grateful to have the area that they can play.
2. Steam Canner. Today was Peach day. The first part of the process of skinning and cutting the peaches for the jars went super fast. Then it was the canner part. That part took longer - however, I am still thankful to have the canner to be able to get things ready for my food storage.
3. Candles. They provide an ambiance and aroma that just fills my home with a sweet coziness that I have come to love.
4. Distractions. Sometimes I find that when I know certain dates are coming that I just don't want to deal with I get busy doing "busy" things. You know, things that could be done at a later date, etc. I just don't want to have time on my hands to think about the inevitable so I keep myself busy with mo many other things! I don't know if these are good or bad, nonetheless, I am grateful to have things to distract me.
5. Cleanliness. Josh and I work hard to keep our home clean and orderly. Then we teach our children the same. That in no way means that our home is spotless all of the time, but for the most part it is not cluttered and unorganized.
6. Mac & Cheese. Isn't this a great fall back lunch. My kids aren't too excited about it, but at least they will eat it.
7. Birthdays. Wednesday is MacKenzie's 5th birthday. I can't believe that she is already 5. I love to celebrate with the kids and to see their excitement.
8. Deals with Friends. You know - I will watch your kids while you do your errands and shopping and then you can pick up a few things I need so I don't have to take my 4 kids and try to do it at some insane hour or even wrestle them to get it done. It is so nice to have friends so enough to do that.
9. Conversation. I wanted to put adult conversation, but that just doesn't sound right. I enjoy having company or going places where I can speak with adults. I find that after working with kids all day that I thrive for the opportunity to speak with adults. My friends will probably say that they can tell this is true because once we start talking I do everything to make sure the conversation keeps going.
10. Garbage Cans. I sure don't like having to take them back and forth to the curb every week. However, that sure beats having garbage piled around at my house!!!
