We made it to Chicago. The weather is nice. The company is great and I am grateful to be here. Josh has meetings with fellow Dental Lab owners. He and Susanna from the Lab came and were both able to bring their spouses. Hence I am here.
However, I am so sad because when I got to the airport this morning I realized that I forgot my camera. UGH! I know there is nothing I can do about that. I just wanted my first trip to Chicago documented. I also wanted to get pictures posted here to my blog. Oh well!!!
My friend, Trisha Willard has our kids. Then on Saturday night they will go stay the night at the Carter's house. Thanks Trisha & Jo-Anne. I really appreciate your help with my angels!!
As we were in the air flying here I remembered that I had a cousin move here sometime last year. I got in touch with my mom and asked her to get me his contact information. I gave him a call, but he is already busy during the times I have available and then the one time he had available we have a previous engagement. I wish I had remembered this long ago so I could have contacted him before. Ryan I was thinking of you. Sorry I couldn't make things work out. Thanks for chatting with me for a minute. I hope you are doing well.
I got here and realized there were plans with the DLOBA (Dental Lab Owners Business Association) group for this evening. I did not bring clothes to freshen up so I headed out this afternoon and found a Marshalls clothing store. I got a new blouse that I really like. Just for clarification, Josh does not "own" the lab. Well, in a way he does as it is employee owned. He is in management and with the main owner on a mission with his wife, Josh gets to go to these meetings in his place. Works for me, I am in Chicago!!
After my walking trip around downtown Chicago Josh & I hung out down in the atrium with the group, had some appetizers and drinks (Josh and I had juice - along with a few others; while the remaining had what they termed "real drinks"). After hanging out there for a bit we walked about 4 blocks away to Harry Cary's for dinner. It was a bit pricey, but oh so good!!! I have enough food left over for two meals. And we have a fridge and a microwave in our suite so I can actually have them safely. Because I didn't know I will share the information: Harry Cary is the individual who wrote the song "Take me out to the ballgame." I guess he is quite famous. I just didn't know.
Tomorrow I am going to finish up some work for the lab and then do some window shopping. There is a Bloomingdales around the corner. And then finally we get to go see WICKED!!!!!! I have been wanting to see this musical since it came out and now I finally have that opportunity. I have had the songs stuck in my head for the last few days!
I will have to post more about that tomorrow and Saturday.
For now - good night from Chicago...

Have a wonderful time in Chicago! Never been east of Arizona/Utah/Idaho.
Maybe one of those disposable cameras? Postcards? Plus find OpenPhotos/Flickr for basic Chicago city views to put on your blog?
Anyways, have fun! It's so hot here, that even "forgetting" a sweater because it is needed sounds so awesome!
I'm very jealous that you get to see WICKED....I don't know when we will be able to afford to travel to a place where I can see it- although I think we should really just do it! For now we have enjoyed the soundtrack for many years and that will have to do. p.s. I could have helped w/ your kiddos! Enjoy it!
