Good news. Mom is doing much better. She got out of ICU on Tuesday afternoon. I get a phone call from Drew or Dad every single day to update me. I am so thankful for their thoughtfulness in keeping me in the loop since I am not there to be with them.
Right now she still has the jugular IV (the one directly to the corroded artery in the neck). Other than that she is free from the rest. She was moved to the fourth floor - not the third as she was originally - THANK GOODNESS!!!! I asked Dad about the nurses here. He said they are taking care of her and meeting her needs. By the way he said it they are not doing anything above and beyond the call of duty, but at least they are doing something.
She is up and around three to four times a day, eating solid foods, and recovering well. Dad said if she continues as she has this week she will be released by the end of the week. That is obviously the best news.
