Update on car

So many people have been asking about my car. We were extremely blessed and fortunate to have a great team of people help us through my mess (see this post to get details).

I took my car to Don Mackey Collison center. They were incredible to work with. I asked them to help me be creative with the estimate. I wanted the glass to go through the insurance and I would pay for everything else out of pocket. I did NOT want our insurance to go up because of my stupid mistake. They graciously did the estimate exactly as I requested.

Then I got our fantastic insurance agent, Branden Seedall, involved. I called and explained what I had done and what I wanted to have happen. He made some phone calls as well and said that my plan should work. We filed the glass claim. There ended up being so much confusion because of how it happened and what was really broken, etc. so our adjuster sent someone out. Gratefully, he came out that afternoon (Wednesday) - otherwise we would have had to wait until Tuesday, Jan 20th for him to come. He also made phone calls for an hour and half. He came back up with a check to cover the cost and told me that all of the pieces that broke come as a single unit and therefore, Country Insurance had to cover the entire thing.

I took the car into the shop at 7:30am on Friday morning. Once they had all of the plastic and tape off it was realized that another small part was broken on the hydraulic hinge thing - don't ask me what it was really called. This would not be covered by insurance so the part and labor only cost us $68!!!!!!! What a blessing. I had our car back by 4:40 that same afternoon.

Happy Day at the Anderson house!!! I still haven't started looking into what it will take to get the house fixed. I can't imagine that will be much. At least the car is done and over with!

Doesn't this look fantastic?!?!?!?

Sorry to hear about the mess with your vehicle...but glad to hear that I am not the only one on earth that ever makes mistakes! (Fancy, schmancy SUV by the way!) How nice of Josh to be so understanding and all the people that helped you out, too.
