So, if you didn't guess, it is the glass from my back Rear Access Door. How did this happen??????????????? Actually I know exactly how it happened because I did it. I found the most incredible deal on Craig's list to get Bailey a new twin bed for $30 for the set. YEAH!!!! She will be 4 in just under a month and is still in a toddler bed. I got her all excited about getting a new bed for her birthday. Josh was still out of town and I wanted to do this to surprise him as well. We picked it up, but it didn't fit in the car without leaving that Rear Access Door open.
When I got home I am thinking, "I don't want to carry the bed all the way across the drive way so I will pull in close enough so I just have to carry it straight into the house from there."
It came crashing clear up to the driver's seat. The kids were screaming. What could I do? What would you do? Well, I jumped out of the car with cell phone in hand. Yes, I had just crashed the Rear Access Door right into the house. I was already calling Josh; by the time Josh could pick up the other end I was already bawling. All I could say through these sobbing tears was, "I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry! I'm Sorry!" He just responds, "Honey, what are you sorry for?" Then I have to tell him the whole story because he didn't even know about the bed.
I have the best husband in the whole world. He calms me down, best he can from 200 miles away and says, "Oh, babe, You are safe; The kids are safe; No one got hurt, No one is in the hospital; Just don't worry about it." Really, is that all? Well, I tried to tell him it was much easier said than done to "Not worry about it".
I had Lexi take the kids upstairs and put a movie on. Thankfully they were very cooperative and patient. I spent the next hour sweeping up the mess, just bawling and sobbing. My eyes were now swollen. I couldn't see the glass any more because it was dark. I walked two doors down to our friends, the Williams, house and asked if I could borrow their flood light. He obviously noticed something was drastically wrong so he came running with the light.
Josh Williams (last name listed as to not confuse you with my Josh) spent the next hour hour vacuuming up all the glass with me. I should have taken a picture of the top of the car - The entire thing was just covered in this shattered glass. As the time past I was laughing just trying not to stress about it. I think Josh was surprised. He told me that I was definitely being positive about the situation. I was cleaning clear up until 8:30 or so. It was just crazy.
Josh Williams even helped me cover and tape up the back hatch so we could make it to church today. They are a very religious family themselves and he wanted to make sure we could go to church too. How nice is that????
Fortunately that isn't too bad. Josh Williams knows exactly how to fix that so he said he would help me. Again, how nice is that?????So, my best bed purchase ever will end up being the most expensive one I have ever made when all costs of repairs and time invested are added up. Oh well, what can I do now?????
I just have to smile and know that I made a stupid mistake that I will NEVER make again!

sorry about that!
I'm so sorry. That's something that I would do!
Oh Trish that totally stinks!!! I'm glad everyone was okay and that you have a great husband who didn't freak out (I would have if Jerime called me and said that) Great neighbors are pretty rare...I'm glad you have one! You know since I have come to know you, you have had some pretty crazy weekends. You keep me entertained! At least you haven't left your vehicle running in the Costco parking lot while you shopped. hehehe
So sorry, but it sounds like something I would do, even the phone call. Glad you guys are safe. Next time you guys come into town let us know and we'll have dinner or something. We're not far from Michelle.
wow, Trish. That's a good one.
My guess was a dark tinted pyrex casserol, but there was way to much of it for that.
So sorry Trish. Your husband was awesome the way he responded. And what a good neighbor you have.
You're a good story teller. And what a blessing that everyone was ok.
Wow, between the dog bite and the car, you have had an interesting few weeks...I am so sorry about the car, but glad that everyone is ok...you've got a good man there, Matthew would have been a tad bit more upset if that had been me :)
you poor thing!!!
Hey Trisha! It's nice to get connected with you again, but I am so sorry for your big disaster! Like your husband said, at least everyone is okay. :) Good to hear from you!
Holy Moly! I totally felt all those emotions as I read the story! I'm so sorry! I'm so pregnant, I almost cried with you! lol
Glad everyone is ok!
