FIGHT FOCA!!!!!

Many of you are thinking why is she posting this here, she already sent me an email about this. I know that many people read my blog that I am completely unaware of, or that I don't have an email address for. This post is for you! Please take the time to read about this very important issue!!!! You may not even be aware that this was something currently facing our nation! Please, Please, Please read and take action! This was the email that I sent out a little earlier today:

Hello Everyone,

I am sending this to you as a concerned citizen of our great nation. I don’t send along many things widespread that are political – HOWEVER, this item needs to be brought to America’s attention – and fast.

President Elect, Obama, has made a Public Announcement and promised Planned Parenthood and others that the first thing he will do in office is sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). This act will legalize abortions and change a lot of American life as we know it. If passed, this bill will overturn any laws prohibiting abortion at state level – where majority vote placed that law there in the first place.

It would force Doctors and nurses to perform these acts even if they did not want to. It would force Catholic hospitals to have these procedures there. The Catholic Church has now gone as far as tell Pres. Elect Obama that if the bill passes they will close the doors of their hospitals rather than allow this. First of all think of the dangers of this act in the first place, but economically, that will put thousands of people out of a job, it would cut revenue to cities and communities. It has a much further affect than I believe most people realize.

I did receive an email about this from a friend and at the end of the letter (of which I did not write) it gives the Fight FOCA website where you can record your information to petition against the bill when it is presented to Congress when Obama takes office. Please read this over, visit the website, and if you feel inclined, please sign the petition and please pass this along so we can spread the word and fight this.
