And the good news is...HE DOESN'T NEED STITCHES!!!!!

That's right, HE DOESN'T NEED STITCHES!!!!!

I was down stairs having a great chat with my visiting teacher from church. I heard Brendon crying, but honestly, I have just learned to tune it out to some degree, knowing they will come get me if it is an emergency.

Well, the emergency happened. MacKenzie comes running down the stairs and says, "Mom, I have to interrupt. It is very, very important." As she is saying this I am thinking she has marker all over her arm and I wanted to scold her for using the marker that way.

First I need to hear what is important. So I have her go ahead. She says. "Bailey hit Brendon in the head with a belt. When I tried to help him, the blood from his head got all over my arm!" WHAT!?!?!?!?!?! I am up the stairs in no time flat.

Brendon had blood streaming down the entire right side of his head. Holy Cow!!! I picked him up and ran to my bathroom, grabbed a wash cloth, got it wet, put it on his head and ran down the stairs for Jo-Anne's help. Once I got it mostly cleaned up I still couldn't tell if he would need stitches.

After a little while longer we finally got the bleeding to stop. It is not as bad as I thought it was, thank goodness!!!! I had to keep an eye on it because it would start to ooze a little more. Now that it has stopped completely I can say with assurance -No stitches are needed.
This is a terrible picture because I took it with my cell phone (while we were at the school) rather than with my camera when we got home.

Poor Brendon. I'm glad he OK. Spencer saw the cut and he asked if Brendon got stitches like he did.

What a terrible sentence to hear come out of MacKenzie's mouth! I'm glad he is okay and doesn't need stitches. Sometimes being a mom is so scary :)

I am glad to hear it is not just my child that hits their siblings in the head with belts :) We had a very similar situation just a few weeks ago with Aidan and Emma...can you guess who had the ouchie? I am SO glad that Brendan doesn't need stitches. Those head wounds bleed like CRAZY even if they are little, and it can be VERY scary. Way to go Mackenzie for trying to help out!!!

I have been there. We have gone both routes with going to the hospital (better safe than sorry) and staying at home. Both times we used super glue and the later cost much less!

So nice to know that my kids aren't the only ones who can be so mean to each other!

That happened to Cade once, this non stop bleeding on the head when he was 18 months old. If I cut Cade's hair too short, you can still see the big gash that I most certainly should have gotten stitches for it, except we didn't have insurance at the time.
