Hunt 1, Hunt 2, Hunt 3...Hike!

After 3, yes that is correct, 3 different Easter Egg hunts we have just as much candy as we did following Halloween. There is something wrong with this!!! All of that candy just needs to take a hike!

The first hunt was for MacKenzie and Bailey at preschool. They loved doing this with their friends from school. I wasn't there so I wasn't able to get any photos.

Second was our community hunt. This was on Saturday morning. The notices only went out the day before and with it raining off and on there wasn't a huge turn out. What does that mean for us you ask? I will tell you - that meant everyone of out children's baskets was overflowing.

When I say overflowing, the eggs were literally falling out because they were too full. In addition to the eggs, there were prizes given away. Each one of our kids walked away with a prize.

Following the hunt we had a pot luck lunch. I took chicken enchiladas. They were a huge hit. Then I also took a platter full of Easter cup cakes. Those were also a hit, with children and adults alike. It was a great event sponsored by our HOA.

A few short hours later we went over to our friend's, the Tonks, house. Our friend's the Browns and Shumways also went. We had an Easter egg hunt there and then followed that with a BBQ dinner. Afterwards, the kids played, the men were in the living room visiting and the women ended up staying with the food - not good, in the kitchen. About 7pm, we called it a night and everyone headed home. It was great to celebrate Easter with some friends and the nice (cool and rainy) weather. It was a fabulous start for the Easter Sunday that was to come.
This is the Brown's - Lance and Sharon. (You saw Lance in my previous post about the guns. He was my "guide".)

This is Issac Tonks.

My little Brendon. I think he was a little disappointed that he didn't end up with as many eggs as earlier in the day.

After the eggs were gathered everyone quickly ran for cover under the porch because it started to rain.

Bailey still gathering her eggs.

Paul Tonks - our Grill Master. I had several pictures of Paul grilling, but because of the silly look on his face this was my favorite.

YUM!! Don't those look good.

This is what we were competing with. It sure smelled and felt good!

the cupcakes are awesome! The kids want to make them now :)
As for all of that extra candy, we chopped up all of the chocolate from our kids' egg hunt and used them as chocolate chunks in bar cookies. Easy way to get it over with!

We also had so much candy at our house. Spencer helped me sort it and send a big bag to his teacher for the candy jar. Your cupcakes look pretty tasty!

Love all the pics of the Easter fun!

The drill bit pictures and drillling the head is because of the increased sinus/allergy troubles in I get every year in April. (thank you pollen!)

The pressure increases, and sometimes I feel like if I just drill my head between the eyes, that it will just go away.

I get you! We had way too much candy from all the festivities. Abigial at one point said that the Easter bunny must be tired!

I'm so glad you went to the community easter egg hunt! They should have passed out the flyers earlier because we were already on our way out of town. Plus Hayley isn't quite ready for the big hunt! Your kids get cuter each time I see them!
