Blissfully Happy!!!

Can I just tell you that right now I am on cloud 9?!?!?!

First, I am on day three of feeling FANTASTIC. I don't know if that means the sickness is over or just on a reprieve. I have had three to four good days in the past and then a crash. For now, I am enjoying the nausea free days and getting the most out of them.
- For example, yesterday - I swept and mopped my entry way, downstairs bathroom, dining area and kitchen. Then I scrubbed down the entire downstairs bathroom. Then I scrubbed down the chairs, counters, oven/stove and walls in the dining area and kitchen and then I prepared dinner and fed the missionaries. Then I made six batches of banana bread and then (yes more) did a visit to a gal turning 12 and entering our Young Woman's youth program at church and finally once I got back home got everything finalized, loaded and prepared for the Spell-A-Thon test and events of today. WOW! It was a glorious day yesterday.

Second, today was the Spell-A-Thon test. Since this was the kick off year I still wasn't quite sure how things would exactly work out today. I had the basic idea in mind but was still unsure. Well, it was WONDERFUL, EXCITING, and AWESOME!!!! We worked out a couple of little kinks, smoothed out our process and then got rolling. I had 17, yes that is right 17, volunteers there to help out. They collected the tests from the teachers, graded the tests, filled out the contribution forms and helped me calculate totals. I had them record the pledged amounts from the forms turned in today. The school wide goal was $5,000. My personal goal (without telling anyone else) was $8,000. Unfortunately, my email reminder flier I put together did not get sent out. The principals were not happy about that and were going to follow up with the tech guy to find out why. Since there was no reminder most people did not remember to send the student's contribution form back. So, we only received about 25% of the forms in to be recorded. Still, the pledged amount that was turned in today was........................ $8512.67!!!!!!! There were 68 kids out today that will be doing make up tests on Monday. I am sure several of them, as well as others, will have forms trickle in. As long as all of the pledged amounts come in we have far exceeded our goals!!! Everyone involved couldn't have been more happy. The principal's mouth literally fell open when I gave her the total. **We even got district recognition. I guess we were the first school to do an educational fundraiser. I got an email from a District Board member congratulating us on that decision and thanking me for all of my work. Let me tell you - that felt so good.

Well, now I guess it is time to get back to being a mom. I have four little mouths and one big mouth hanging around waiting to get fed. Off to the kitchen I go.

so glad you are feeling so good! How wonderful about the fundraiser - personally I have been cheering from the sidelines for it to succeed. I think it sounds like such a great idea. I know at the last PTSA meeting I attended at Mesquite they were thinking of things like this, I may need to tell them about you for a referral fee I can pass on to you. :)
