Ok, my friends. I need HELP!!
B Boy is on day five of potty training. He has pretty much gotten the peeing thing down. So few accidents. However, he boy will not poop in the potty. He did it a couple of times on day #1, but ever since then it has been in his pants. I am at a loss as to what to do.
None of my girls did this. Maybe once in the pants, didn't like how it felt and NEVER did it again. With him he just doesn't seem to care. I have taken off stickers from his potty chart. Doesn't phase him. I have taken away two of the three cars he has earned. He gets mad for the first 5 minutes and then after that he doesn't care.
In addition, I can't handle it much longer. After being sick for so long my gag reflex is not the best. I am throwing up every time I have to clean it up and he is throwing up over his own poop so I have to clean that up too. It is not pretty to say the least.
PLEASE give me suggestions. I need a new way to try to help him through this so he can have a successful experience.

Oh Trish, I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Potty training is NOT my favorite thing to do. But you'll get there! Each of my kids seemed to be scared of pooping on the potty. Once I got them to do it (by force, prob. not the "nicest" way to go about it), they saw that it wasn't so scary and did much better. I hope you get some good suggestions nad find something that will work. Good luck!!!
Trish-I'm so sorry! Both of our kids did this.
A few things that I think helped: both did not like pooping on the potty chair. I think it grossed them out to dump it in the toilet. Also, they needed they're privacy to do it. They didn't like pooping when someone was in the bathroom.
It took Gregory about a week to figure it out. Although I think it was just after a week of me failing (Kaylee was 6 weeks old when we trained him. Yes, we were crazy) Then Chad finally spent a Saturday on the toilet with books so that he could have a successful experience with it and realized what it felt like when it was time to go.
Kaylee took longer. She was scared of pooping. She cried when she knew she had to go. We tried everything: bribery (mcdonald's), logic (the poopy wanted to go home to the toilet. It was sad when she pooped in her pants. Sleeping Beauty didn't like getting pooped on either. Pooping is like tooting. You just poop your toots out). We even tried punishment (shower when she pooped, which she hated). Once she was able to have a few successes she realized it wasn't so scary. But it was a struggle.
It doesn't sound like Brendan's scared. He may have just not put two and two together on day one when he went in the toilet. It's hard because they don't do it as often as peeing so it's hard to catch. Once they have an accident you've lost your chance to teach until they go the next day. And don't be ashamed to throw away poopy underwear. Sometimes it's just not worth the money to clean it up.
Good luck! I hope this helps.
If he shows any signs that he may have to go poop, like squatting or something, then hurry and rush him in and sit him on the potty. I noticed Caiden kinda doing his slouching/squatting and barely got him on the potty barely in time as it was coming out, but rewarded him even though I had to carry him to it. When Cicily would poop in her underwear if it was really bad and messy I would just throw it away and not worry about cleaning it up. But if it would fall off into the toilet and not be too messy I would have her rinse it out in the bathroom sink. Good luck and hope you can recognize the signs of when he needs to go and that he can learn to go in the potty.
I am sorry b boy is giving you trouble in the potty training area. Good luck trish. I wish I had advice but we are not there just yet and im sure you will be the one giving me advice.
I'm so sorry Trish!!! I hate potty training. Owen did this exact same thing, and we tried everything, rewards, talking, punishment, etc. He just didn't care either. Finally I made him sit on the potty all day long until he pooped (normally he would wait until he was alone, poop, then take off his underwear and make messes everywhere :(). After sitting there for hours with me checking on him every few minutes, he did it, and we never had a struggle again. I keep talking myself out of potty training Noah...sigh.
Vicki
I hope he gets the idea REAL SOON. I do not have any brilliant ideas. Best of Luck!
I owe u an apology. My comment was rude and I am sorry.
Oh, I wish I could help. I tried potty training last week and went through a 7pack of underwear in 1 morning. That's when I decided we could wait another month before we try again. He'll be 3 in May. My other kids were trained by now. I have come to find out that each child is different.
