Introducing...Anderson Baby #5

Arianna Janeen Anderson
9lbs 3oz, 20 inches
Born 3:54am, 7/7/10

Welcome to our family....

I had gone to bed at 11pm on 11/6, much later than I had planned. At 11:30 I woke because of a hard kick and strong contraction. I breathed through the quickly on-setting contractions. An hour later I finally woke Josh to tell him we couldn't wait until our scheduled time to be at the hospital. I got up, walked around, took a shower and we were on our way just after 1:30am; arriving around 2am. I had a thought to call ahead to labor and delivery. They already had everything set up for us when we got there.

Luckily I hadn't eaten anything since dinner. When I was checked and just past 4cm the nurses called my doctor to find out what she wanted them to do. They came back in the room stating she would be here in 30 minutes and we were having a baby now. We had to wait longer than my doctor wanted because the lab results had not come back "stat" as they had been requested. Still Arianna graced us with her presence at 3:54.
Everyone in the OR was asking me about the sizes of our previous babies. I told them that our heaviest baby has been 7lbs 9oz. They said, you have a new winner, she is at least 8 1/2 pounds. My mouth fell open after she had been officially weighed and came back 9lbs 3oz. Dr. S asked me where I was hiding her because my tummy really wasn't that big.
It made for an extremely long day yesterday. In addition, I have decided to try nursing again. This big girl can eat. Last night was a very long sleepless night. This morning after only a couple more hours of sleep added to the 30 min from the night before I was tired, in pain and emotional. The day is already better and moving along.

I am excited to see Josh and the kids a little later today. In the mean time - Arianna is fed and I am going to take a nap now.
