JUST STOP

I finally took some time to sit and read from my friend's blogs and am even taking a moment to write a quick post myself. My to do list is a mile long, but it is just waiting. It will still be there tomorrow and the next day.

My time has been on overload - just boiling over f
or the last couple of weeks with so many things going on, both on my end and in that of my family. Between the rain today and suddenly coming down with strep throat (sorry to all the ladies I hung out with last night - I have NO idea where I was even exposed to it; just woke up with it this morning - SURPRISE!!!), my plans have been drastically changed for today. No more rushing from event to event, no ore coordinating a quick meet and hand off of the kids with Josh, no more stressing about how to get it all done.

Now, I sit and relax. This feels so good to just stop!!! The medication is finally kicking in and the pain is starting to subside. I am enjoying watching out the window. The rain is beautiful!!!! The kids are playing happily upstairs. Things are peaceful and life is good. I guess it took getting a quick sickness to help me stop for a day. I hated having to reschedule a couple of things because it will be tough to get them back in the schedule, but I do admit that I will now be going to bed early tonight!

I have time to reflect on so many things at the moment. My family is so tremendously blessed. No we are not made of riches, no we don't have the latest and greatest gadgets, but we are happy, we are teaching our children how to be good and follow the example of our Savior, we have our needs met, we have dreams and goals that we work on and most importantly we are loved. I am grateful each and every day that I have to be alive.

I hope you are enjoying this day with all of its goodness!!!!

I'm sorry you are sick, but getting a break, even if unscheduled can be such a relief. Hope you are doing alright, let me know if you need anything!

amazing how most of the time we just have to be FORCED to stop or we won't do it, huh?

i'm glad you are taking this time to appreciate the little things around you. and if the other stuff is THAT important....well those things have a way of finding their way back into the schedule. it's the other stuff that just seems to fall through the cracks.

hope you get well soon!!!
