Happy 5th Birthday Bailey Girl!!!

5 years ago today...
Bailey Elise was born into our family. It was the end of an extremely difficult pregnancy and a very long 9 months. We got pregnant while on birth control and I was NOT happy about the pregnancy. It was my sickest pregnancy as well. Josh at one point asked if I would love our baby. Sad, I know. But that was truly the wake up call I needed. To add to that, when I had 13 weeks left of the pregnancy I was put on complete bed rest. It was a very hard trial, but we had many angels on both sides of the veil helping us, watching over us and we made it through. When I had about four weeks left in the pregnancy my Grandma, who I had been close to passed away. The emotional impact of that added to the physical complications I was having. I was able to go to the funeral, but had many "Mothers" making sure I was resting every possible moment available. We made it back home and while Dad, Josh & I believe my brother in law Ben unloaded my Grandma's piano that I would get, I sat in labor without anyone knowing.

The next day we went to the hospital and I was admitted. It was my mother in law's birthday and I thought it would be wonderful to have one of my kids share that special day with her. The day went and no baby. In fact after 24 hours the contractions stopped and I was sent home. The following week was a nightmare for me. Lexi & MacKenzie had been in Queen Creek with my sister and both had their ear drums burst. Not a fun situation to try to fix when they were far away. I was still suffering from hard labor but it wasn't progressing anything along. My doctor refused to do anything, stating I was still in my 37th week and there was no rush. My thought was why do I have to go through all of this labor if I am having a C-Section. Still, to no avail, I was in and out of the hospital that whole week.

We got the kids back. I was still miserable. Still in labor, still in and out of the hospital. I went in on the Thursday morning - just angry that my doctor kept sending me home from the hospital. At that appointment I had suddenly, within a couple of hours, jumped from a 3 to a 5. He said that changed things. But because I had just eaten he couldn't send me to the hospital right then. I had to meet him back at 2:30 that afternoon. Both of the other girls had follow up appointments with their ears at 1:30. I called my amazing sister in law, Jen. She met us at the McDonald's after their appointment so we could get the kids and Josh something to eat. She then took the girls and off to the hospital we went.

By that evening, 2 weeks before my due date, we were been blessed with our third, beautiful baby girl. I had already changed my attitude about the situation, but when I heard that first cry it completely melted my heart and I was hooked on that little girl.

Bailey has been a joy to our family. She is loud, fun, energetic and LOVES people, animals, toys and anything that she can play with. She loves to cuddle and always tells me she loves me. Her motto in life is FUN!!! If it is fun - even if it isn't a good decision - she will do it, no matter how many times she gets in trouble for it.

She almost always can be found laughing or with a smile on her face. She loves to tickle and be tickled. Bailey is a delight.

We love you baby girl!!!
Have a most wonderful day today!!!!

Can you believe she's 5 already? Kaylee's upcoming birthday is freaking me out. Can she really be that old already? I remember being jealous that you had your baby and I still had to wait. But I'm glad you didn't have to wait any longer.

Five already?! Where did that time go? She was always the sweetest girl in my class. You are right about the fun part. The party didn't start in my class until Bailey arrived, she was the life of the party (along with Dallen, not surprising, being family members and all) Happy Birthday Bailey! And to you Trisha! (every kid's birthday is also Mom's birthday!)
